Dear Who's Next,

As you know, I've been A big fan of Who's Next since I
first saw you guys at BB KING'S with the OX himself.

It was an honor and a priviledge to get to play with
you guys. I have not been able to perform for a few
years since my wife and I had to leave NY because of
my Multiple Sclerosis. This meant a great deal to me,
it lifted my spirits and I just want to thank you for
including me on part of your "Amazing Journey" and
making me feel like part of the gang.

I want to tell you about one of the great moments I
will always remember.

That drizzly night at Mulcahy's there was a small
crowd for you guys. I have always watched you guys
through a crowd.  This time, I fortunately had the
best seat in the house. You guys could have phoned the
performance in. You could have treated it like just
another night. Being out front and that close to the
action on stage, let me tell you that was not the
case. As Roger once said about Pete, "He had a way of
connecting with those guys and making them feel like
it was them up there doing it." You guys have that
quality and that is very rare. You guys understand
that playing the Who's music takes more than just
miming the songs. Burning at 110% is how the Who did
it. You guys are no exception.

Mulcahy's was my first gig of three that turned out to
be a great experience and journey.  My steel guitar
was always set up exactly where the camera at
Shepperton Studios was set up for THE big chord, THE
scream at the end of the organ break on "Won't get
fooled again".  I grabbed a handful of strings as
Darren pulverized his set into shrapnel. As I looked
up from the best seat in the house, Dave nailed the
scream into the ceiling and then tore it down; Will
sounded like he threw a Steinway across the club; As
Bill jumped towards me in front of that cool-assed
wall of HIWATTs and struck the big Townshend "A" chord
on that Les Paul, the look on his face was nothing but
determined and real. My hand was bleeding and my ears
were ringing. I loved it. This may sound corny, but I
really mean it. The rafters knocked, LONG LIVE ROCK!

Thanks again for letting me be part of it and have the
best seat in the house. Hopefully we can do it again.
If you guys need any support, anytime, I will be
there.  Just call me.  I would love to crank my
straight lap-steel with you guys (no pedals or knee
levers, just barn-burning minimalism).  I  believe in
the music and let me assure you, you guys are the real
deal.  I'll definitely see you all again at a future
show. I'll hopefully be able to see you at the
Atlantic City show. The best of luck to you all. Keep
the train rolling. I'll see you again soon. You guys
are the best.

With love, the highest respect and nothing but great
memories,
Robinson Scott Strickland.
