The Parlor
" N.Y.C In The Snow "
Jan 20th
The Parlor gig was a private party and our first show since October. I was approached by Rich, who saw us at Le Bar Bat, and was asked if we were interested in playing his party. Going into the show I didn't know what to expect knowing that most people there weren't going to be Who fans. The party was from 8-12 and we went on around 9. The band was situated in the downstairs part of the club, as people upstairs got a taste of "Who" with their dinner. I was concerned about blowing the place out with our volume. The concern only seemed to last a few songs into the show as I found myself adjusting the Hiwatts for more volume. Me and Bobby have the same talk before every show, " let's really try to keep the volume down tonight" I realize playing "The Who" at a controlled volume is an impossible task. The show went great. To my surprise Rich had a lot of friends who were Who fans. We finished Naked eye around 12 and began the unfortunate task of packing the gear up. As it turned out it had been snowing heavy for the last past 4 hours. Loading a truck in Manhattan with equipment is a nightmare on it's own, now add 6 inches of snow and a blizzard. Rich you threw a kick ass party!
